From Fan Fiction to Fan Diction

In the summer of 2020, I took part in A Quest for Home Upside Down Edition, which was a series of creative writing workshops organized by Arts and Democracy and led by Roohi Choudhry. My time with Roohi and my cohort culminated in a zine that was launched on December 12, 2020. Below is the piece I submitted to the zine, where I recount my experience coming to terms with myself as a writer over the course of my life and particularly during the workshop.
